Plain-English version: This is a free tool for educational use. It calculates lot sizes; it doesn't tell you whether to take a trade. Trading forex involves real risk. Use your own judgement and consult a regulated financial professional if you need personal advice.

⚠ Risk warning: Trading forex, CFDs, and prop firm challenges involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. You can lose more than your initial deposit. Most retail forex traders lose money. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

This site is not financial advice

fxsizecalc.com is an educational tool. The calculator performs arithmetic based on the inputs you provide — it tells you the lot size mathematically required to risk a specific amount on a trade with a specific stop loss distance. It does not:

The author of this site is not a regulated financial adviser. Nothing on this site should be interpreted as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument. If you need personal financial advice, consult an adviser regulated in your jurisdiction (in the UK: the FCA Register).

About the calculator's outputs

The position size calculator and the TradingView indicator both produce lot size figures based on pip value calculations that depend on live FX rates fetched from a third-party API. These figures are accurate to the best of our ability but:

Always verify the calculated lot size against your broker's actual margin and risk display before placing a trade. For prop firm accounts, also verify against your dashboard's current drawdown headroom — the prop firm calculator's figures are based on documented firm rules at the time of last audit and firms can change rules without notice.

Prop firm rules

The prop firm calculator includes presets for major funded-account providers. These presets reflect each firm's documented rules at the time of our most recent monthly audit. Prop firm rules change frequently — sometimes weekly. Before relying on a preset:

Use the "Report wrong rule" link on the prop firm calculator page if you notice anything that doesn't match your firm's current documentation. We run a monthly audit but firm changes between audits do happen.

Affiliate links

This site features links to certain prop firms and brokers. Some are affiliate links from which we may earn a commission if you sign up. This does not influence the figures shown in the calculator. We include firms based on their documented offering and apparent stability, not based on affiliate commission size.

That said, you should always do your own due diligence on any firm before depositing funds — including reading their terms, checking their regulatory status (or lack thereof — most prop firms are not regulated in the traditional sense), and reading recent independent reviews on sources like Trustpilot, PropFirmMatch, and ForexFactory.

No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, fxsizecalc.com, its operators, and its contributors disclaim all liability for:

Trading is your own responsibility. The calculator is a tool to help you size trades according to your own risk parameters — those parameters and the decision to trade are entirely yours.

Jurisdictions

This site is operated from the United Kingdom and reflects UK perspectives on retail trading. We make no representation that the calculator or the educational content is appropriate or legal for use in all jurisdictions. Forex trading is restricted, regulated, or prohibited in some countries. If you are unsure about the legality of forex trading in your jurisdiction, consult local regulations.
